Citroen AX GT 1.4i (85 Hp)
Overall Rating
Citroen AX:
The Citroën AX is a supermini car which was built by the French manufacturer Citroën from 1986 to 1998. It was launched at the 1986 Paris Motor Show to replace the Citroën Visa and Citroën LNA.
Development of this model started in 1983, and it was initially also going to form the basis of a sister model from Talbot to replace the Samba; however, the falling popularity of the Talbot brand - coupled with the huge success of the new Peugeot 205 - had led to Peugeot deciding to axe it by the time the Citroën AX was launched, and so the Talbot version never made it into production....(Read more on Wikipedia)
AX Overview:
Citroen AX (AX). With 116 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. It has moderate fuel consumption (~8.2 l/100km). Weighing only 720 kg, it’s quite light. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 9.6 s). The top speed reaches 180 km/h. A compact car with a rear door that swings upward to provide access to the cargo area. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
The Citroen AX was produced before Euro NCAP testing began (1997) and lacks modern safety features like multiple airbags or advanced driver-assistance systems. Safety standards of the era were significantly lower than today's.
